No, but my mother, Marilyn Snider, was a social worker and teacher at Hiller and Lessenger.


Did you go to college, if so tell us where. What degrees do you have?
I have a bachelor's degree in French and Asian Studies from Western Michigan University. I have a master's degree in Education from Wayne State University. I also studied at L'université du Havre in France, Rikkyo University in Japan, and La Universidad de Veracruz in Mexico.


Tell us about your family:
My wife D'Anne and I have been together since 1997. Our son Gavin is in second grade. We also have two dogs, Henri and Rocket, and a cat named Jota.


What kind of hobbies do you have? What do you like to do?
I like Middle-Eastern dancing. I also do yoga and zumba. I like to read in Spanish and French. I like to listen to podcasts like This American Life and Radio Ambulante. And I like watching anime in Japanese. 


How long have you worked at Lamphere?
This is my fourteenth year.


What's your favorite thing about being a part of the Lamphere district?
I see so many strong teachers here working together. They are constantly renewing their skills and searching for what research says are the best ways to reach each student. And they are willing to share their time and wisdom so everyone can grow.
