Our English Language Arts curriculum adheres to the Michigan K-12 Standards for ELA to ensure the necessary development of reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills. Our classes are designed to foster improvement in reading comprehension, literature appreciation, and writing skills. Students will learn strategies to help them better understand many different genres and text formats. Our students will gain the skills to be literate adolescents by using multimedia technology, co-operative learning techniques, visible thinking, and hands-on class work. Students will focus on writing styles, voice, grammar, and editing. Additionally, a rich assortment of quality literature will build personal connections and challenge student thinking.
