Molly Kosnak Alumni Spotlight 2Tell us about what you've been doing since graduation:
After graduating from Lamphere, I attended Oakland University were I earned degrees in International Relations and Psychology. Through an exchange program, I studied for a semester at Western Oregon University. I spent my Spring Breaks volunteering through OU's Alternative Spring Break program in Atlanta, GA, Memphis, TN and Charleston, SC. I also travelled in Europe on a research grant, where I interviewed policy makers in the Netherlands as part of my Honors College Thesis. During college I worked as a dance teacher in the cities of Madison Heights, Troy, Royal Oak and Berkley.

Molly Kosnak Alumni Spotlight 3A month after graduating college I started my 27 month service as a Peace Corps Volunteer. I am currently living in a small rural town of 2000 people in Mongolia, where I work as an English teacher. I teach students from 5th-12th grade, two English teachers and one Russian teacher. Outside of class I run English Clubs and dance clubs, study the complex Mongolian language, and learn about the beautiful country and culture around me.

Molly Kosnak Alumni Spotlight 3Tell us about your family and/or hobbies:

My current hobbies include traveling, studying a new language, practicing writing the Cyrillic alphabet in cursive, learning to cook traditional Mongolian foods and trying not to freeze in this -40F winter. (I also come from a proud family of LHS graduates!)

Molly Kosnak Alumni Spotlight 5How did your years at Lamphere affect your life?

Lamphere is home to the most encouraging and supportive teachers and staff I've ever met. My time at Lamphere helped me to become who I am today. My teachers taught me to dream and work hard for my goals. My coaches and extracurricular activities taught me dedication, teamwork, and how to come together to achieve a goal. I'm truly thankful to be a Lamphere alum.

If you had a message for current Lamphere students what would it be?
Don't be afraid to show the world who you are! Be yourself and believe in yourself. Chase your dreams with your whole heart, and put all the effort you have into working towards your goals.

Чи чадна - you can do it!
